About Aviate New Mexico
Aviate New Mexico (AviateNM) is an aviation-focused company built on a simple premise:
strong aviation systems require continuity, clarity, and culture—not just compliance.
We operate at the intersection of airport operations, aviation safety, regulatory understanding, and public-facing aviation culture, supporting general aviation across New Mexico and beyond.
AviateNM was created to address a recurring gap in aviation: the loss of institutional knowledge, the fragmentation of responsibility, and the tendency for compliance to become reactive instead of continuous. Our work is designed to reinforce stability—both operationally and culturally—within aviation organizations.
Our Perspective
Aviation does not fail because people are careless.
It fails when knowledge disappears, standards erode quietly, and systems rely too heavily on individuals instead of processes.
AviateNM approaches aviation through a systems lens:
-
How knowledge is retained
-
How responsibility is transferred
-
How risk accumulates over time
-
How culture influences safety and decision-making
This perspective informs everything we do, whether we are advising an airport, supporting an organization, or telling the story of aviation in New Mexico.
The Founder

Where We Came From
AviateNM began as a multimedia and storytelling platform highlighting New Mexico’s aviation community—its airports, pilots, landscapes, and culture. That foundation remains central to our identity.
Over time, our work expanded naturally into deeper operational and advisory roles as airports and organizations sought continuity, context, and trusted guidance from professionals who understand aviation from the inside.
Today, AviateNM reflects both of those origins:
-
grounded operational experience
-
and a commitment to preserving and advancing aviation culture
Leadership & Experience
AviateNM is led by William Fitzpatrick, whose background spans:
-
airport operations and inspections
-
aviation safety and education
-
military and civil aviation service
-
general aviation flight operations
This experience provides AviateNM with a rare vantage point—one that understands regulation, operations, and people as interconnected systems rather than separate silos.
The company draws from real-world aviation practice, not abstract theory, and maintains close alignment with the realities faced by general aviation airports and organizations.
How We Think About Aviation
AviateNM believes:
-
Compliance is strongest when it is continuous, not episodic
-
Airports benefit from partners who extend capacity, not replace staff
-
Aviation culture is a strategic asset, not a soft concept
-
Education and clarity reduce risk more effectively than enforcement alone
We exist to support aviation organizations in staying prepared, informed, and resilient—without unnecessary complexity or bureaucracy.
Our Role in the Aviation Ecosystem
AviateNM does not aim to be everything to everyone.
We are most effective when operating as:
-
a stabilizing presence
-
a continuity partner
-
a translator between regulation, operations, and people
-
and a storyteller for aviation’s broader value
Our role is to strengthen what already exists and help aviation organizations operate with greater confidence, foresight, and durability.
Looking Forward
As aviation continues to evolve—through regulatory change, staffing transitions, and shifting public expectations—the need for continuity and clarity will only grow.
AviateNM is committed to being part of that long-term solution.
